Livermore Nitro Vs Mountain Valley Los Altos
The first team the Livermore Nitro U15 Al Caffodio team met this tournament was the team that beat them 7-0 last week. Both teams matched offence for defence and the ball went back and forth for the first 5 minutes. Then Livermore took the lead when Andrew Dubatowka struck the ball so hard it passed the keeper and hit the back of the net - a great solo effort. The pace was fast and both teams
played hard. Close to half time MVLA levelled the game to make it 1-1.
In the second half the play was just as fast - the Livermore Nitro took the lead again when Phillip Wonders played a thrugh ball to Andrew Dubatowka who ran onto it and scored to take them 2-1 in the lead. Goalkeeper Ruben Vazquez saved several shots in the second half and on one occassion just tipped the ball over the net to save a goal. Moments later however a low hard fast shot was too much and the Nitro were at 2-2. The last 10 minutes were intense and exciting - both sides had chances. Andrew Dubatowka almost got a hat trick when he broke away from the defence but his shot was just over the bar.
Thats how the game ended - an excellent result and something to be proud of - the Livermore U15 team has grown, developed and is playing some excellent soccer. Any team that can tie a tournament champion team deserves recognition.

Livermore Nitro Vs Orchard Valley Posse
After a long wait for their second game the Livermore Nitro took the field at 4pm for a challenging game against the Orchard Valley Posse. Both teams played some hard and fast entertaining soccer and it was Livermore who took the lead. 14 minutes into the game a cross by Scott Lassey was pushed out by the Posse keeper where Kyle Oden was waiting. Kyle made no mistake and put the ball
in the net. Excellent soccer. The Nitro ended the half n the lead 1-0.
Play in the second half went from one end to the other - these young men seem tireless sometimes. Both teams had shots on and off goal and both keepers did a fine job but at the end of the day the
score was tied 1-1.

Livermore Nitro Vs San Juan
For the first 15 minutes the play was by far in the Thunder half. Livermore continued to press forward and were awarded a free kick 35 yards out. Phillip Wonders took the kick and played a ground ball past the wall and in a perfect place for Andrew Dubatowka to run onto it and score to make it 1-0 which is how the half ended.
Livermore established their dominance and most of the play play continued to be in the Thunder half. Ten minutes into the second half Scott Lassey took the ball to the end of the field and at the last moment crossed the ball to the far post where Andrew Dubatowka was waiting and the score was 2-0. About 10 minutes before the end of the game Livermore lost a player for a second yellow, or a red
card, and went down to ten men. The pressure was on and Livermore had to work extra hard and they did. About 5 minutes from the end of the game a free kick by the Thunder was well taken and they pulled one back but at the end it was Livermore 2, Thunder 1.
The win put the Livermore Nitro in the play off for 3rd place.

Livermore Nitro Vs Lamorinda
The Nitro started slowly - three hard games took their toll. With a couple of players down it was especially hard on them all and they played in the heat of the day. They were clearly tired and found it hard to win the ball and do what they know they needed to do to win the game. They had chances and there were moments of real Nitro spirit but it didn't gel. They lost 4-0.
Result: Livermore Nitro 0 Lamorinda 4
The Livermore Nitro has arrived. Several coaches commented on how much this team has improved and in the Awards ceremony the Lamorinda Eagle coach pointed it out and their play this weekend proves just what they can do. The Livermore Nitro has strength, ability, skill and a will to win and with the excellent coaching they are getting they will improve and win tournaments. Andrew Dubatowka was the star..... he scored four goals and that's what makes a team win!!! The Nitro truly deserved their 4th place finish in this years Central Valley Magic Cup, in San Jose.
